Activities
(a) To act as an appeal board, when requested, in the event of a dispute between affiliates and/or individual members of affiliates.
(b) To represent the best interests of aviculture as a whole in dealings between affiliates (or individual members of affiliates) and government, at any level, or government authorities and institutions.
(c) To act as an advisory council on all matters pertaining to the welfare of an affiliated organisation.
(d) To oversee the allotment of show dates.
(e) To compile a set of show rules for exhibitions held by affiliates. Such rules to be binding on affiliates.
(f) To guard against the misuse of identification rings and ring numbers.
(g) To hold an annual dinner to honour individuals (Guest of Honour - to promote the social, non-competitive aspects of the fancy).
(h) To facilitate the provision of adequate insurance for affiliates.

Mission Statement The specific aims and objectives of the BCSA are clearly defined in the constitution of the organisation. In point form, they are as follows:
• The purpose of the Budgerigar Council of South Australia (BCSA) is to provide a governing body for the breeding and exhibiting budgerigars in the state of South Australia (incorporating the Broken Hill club). The BCSA was formulated as a communication mechanism between affiliate and associate clubs within the state, providing a representative voice for the state in National matters of significance (to the ANBC).
• The BCSA’s mission is to promote the fancy within the state, as well as the development of new exhibitors to the hobby. Parallel to this, the BCSA focuses its efforts on developing strategies to revitalise the hobby, at a State, National and global level, in conjunction with other governing bodies and societies.

The ANCS is the first club to focus solely on cockatiels, promoting various aspects of their care and breeding. Through the knowledge and experience of the ever growing membership, and an informative bi-monthly journal, the club is able to offer an extensive information base and support system to members throughout Australia and overseas. (Currently New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, etc.) Members also have the opportunity to attend the monthly gatherings in Brisbane to share their experiences, as well as to learn from knowledgeable guest speakers.

Our bird club is a friendly club with members keeping a variety of parrots and softbills. Many keep cockatiels, lovebirds, macaws, rainbow lorikeets, kakariki, budgerigars, eclectus, sun conures, green-cheeked conures and their various mutations and more...

A group of Aviculturists who get together each month and share experiences and knowledge with other Bird Keepers and beginners. The Society produces a bi-monthly magazine which is distributed to all financial members. Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of every month(except December)at 7.30 pm at- DUTTON PARK STATE SCHOOL, ANNERLEY RD, DUTTON PARK, QLD. The society was formed on the 16th September 1983, with the purpose of providing a means of bringing together like minded people who enjoy the hobby of aviculture.

For all birds Australian and foreign the society will study and promote the conservation, the hygienic keeping, the scientific feeding and breeding of birds in the most natural condition possible.

The arranging of visiting and local aviculturalist speakers to share their knowledge and experience in the best care and treatments of birds in our care.

The sharing of avicultural information and the promotion of friendly relations with like societies

Our meetings usually consist of:

• The Normal General Meeting Agenda
• Followed by a Guest speakers from either our society or other neighbouring clubs
• Or annually - an Interstate guest speaker
• And finish the evening with supper and general social time

We have a Library and Exchange steward available...

The society Magazine is published and sent out just prior to each meeting...

We have a number of Aviary visits throughout the year where we visit local aviaries and have a long weekend away.
