Each session commences with an assessment of the whole animal. Sophie takes a thorough case history, with details of current and any past injury, change in behaviour and an impression of the animal's exercise pattern and general lifestyle. In the static assessment, Sophie looks for areas of musculoskeletal asymmetry or abnormalities. This is followed by an evaluation of the animal's gait. The whole assessment allows Sophie to build a picture of the animal's health and identifies any problems. The assessment also allows Sophie to identify which treatment techniques are most appropriate for the animal. McTimoney animal manipulation is a non-invasive physical therapy that realigns and balances the animal's musculoskeletal system. After an injury, either sudden ("acute") or longstanding ("chronic"), the animal will compensate by moving differently. Muscles tighten, often on a diagonal, and can pull a joint in the spine or pelvis out of line with its neighbours. Even in normal day-to-day activities, the animal's skeleton is placed under stress, which can cause misalignments, musculoskeletal imbalance and sometimes neurological problems. It is recommended to have a maintenance check at the beginning of the year to provide the best start to the competition season.

On leaving the farm, Todd pursued a career in earthmoving. Today, with 16 years of earthmoving experience, Todd has supervised a wide spectrum of construction projects both in Australia and overseas. These include some of the largest and most complex earthworks projects in South East Queensland.

Restoration
In addition, ELD provides a restoration service for existing arenas. This can include partial or complete reconstruction, resurfacing and/or improved drainage systems.

Situated on 7.5 acres it has plenty of good shade trees and good grassy paddocks that the horses certainly appreciate. The sand arena is a good size 25 x 45 mtrs and has mirrors which are a great aid in training. There are even jumps for all the jumpers out there!
I only have a small amount of horses on the property which enables me to give them all very individual care and attention. All horses are individually kept, rugs, fly veils and any other needs the horses may have are attended to daily.
Riding Lessons
A fully insured EA qualified instructor is onsite for riding lessons and instruction in horse care and managment. Lessons are by appointment only.
