Miniature Longhaired Dachshund “Scout” is looking forward the Big Day Out for Dogs on Sunday, 11 December so she can defend her title of Waggiest Tail.

At last year’s event Scout won the competition with her active, fluffy tail wagging like crazy at her owner Sal Robinson.
Scout will return to this year’s event to defend her title.
Other events in the competition will include Best Dressed, Best Dressed (Christmas), Best Old Age Pensioner, Best Trick, Best Friends (to reward the best dog/handler positive relationship) and the Patron’s Award.
Judges for the competition will be DOGS Victoria’s patron and Channel 9 Newsreader Peter Hitchener as well as DOGS Victoria therapy dog coordinator, Nicky Abell.
The day is free to attend and the fun competitions are free to enter. The gates of the State Dog Centre open to the public at 10:30am. Fun competition judging begins at 1pm. In the meantime visitors and their dogs can watch and have a go at doggy sports such as obedience, agility and retrieving, meet more than 40 different breeds of dog and learn about the many ways to get involved in DOGS Victoria.
The Canine Museum will be open on the day, admission is free. The museum will have a number of books, including cook books, for sale. The DOGS Victoria library will also be open on the day.
