2012 Royal Melbourne Show Championship Dog Show: Entries Open
Entries to the prestigious Royal Melbourne Championship Dog Show, the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, are now open with entry forms available at www.rasv.com.au/dogs.
The Royal Melbourne Championship Dog Show will be held during the 2012 Royal Melbourne Show, which runs from Saturday, 22 September to Tuesday, 2 October at Melbourne Showgrounds.
Mr Mark O’Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), said “A favourite with Show patrons, the Royal Melbourne Championship Dog Show is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere featuring more than 200 breeds with over 4,000 dogs competing in the judging ring.”
This year the Royal Melbourne Championship Dog Show welcomes the Azawakh and the German Shepherd Dog (Long Stock Coat – Langstockhaar), both recently recognised by the Australian National Kennel Council Ltd (ANKC) for inclusion into the competition ring.
The 2012 international judging panel is comprised of Mr Luis Pinto Teixeira (Portugal), Dr Richard Meen (Canada), Dr John Reeve-Newson (Canada) and Mr Gerardo Paolucci (Argentina).
Highlights include Obedience, Agility and Jumping and Best In Show which is awarded on Saturday, 29 September. Entries close on Friday, 3 August, with entries for Baby Puppies open until Friday, 17 August.
