The Pet Directory extends its sympathy to the victims of the bushfires.
This is a tragic time for the nation and many of us would like to assist with donations of money or goods. Here is a list of organisations and funds that have been set up to help people with animals such as dogs, cats and other pets as well as wildllife that have been left homeless by the fires.
Dogs Victoria have set up an Appeal Fund specifically for their own members that need assistance. The funds will be dispersed as quickly as possible to needy members. Lists of members needing assistance as well as dog and people accommodation and minding offers, transport offers and updates on members affected by the fires are available on the Dogs Victoria website.

RSPCA action so far:
- Our Inspectors are working with various government departments to provide emergency care to wildlife, companion animals and livestock.
- We are providing temporary accommodation to animals at our Shelters across Victoria. If your pet needs emergency accommodation - please phone 03 9224 2222.
- We are delivering emergency pet food to relief centres across Victoria including food donated by Hill's Pet Nutrition. If you wish to donate items such as pet food, bedding, leads and bowls you can deliver these to your local RSPCA.
- The RSPCA will be working to reunite lost pets with their families. Stay tuned as we develop online resources to register your lost pet from the bushfire's.
Please note: If you are from the Bendigo area, our RSPCA Bendigo adoption centre has been closed. This will increase our capacity to provide emergency assistance to animals affected by the bushfires.
