Poodles that go Baaaa…
Japan
April 26 2007
Believe it or not, Japanese pet buyers were recently caught
up in an incredible scam in which the dogs they purchased
from Australia and Britain turned out to be lambs. Apparently
up to 2,000 sheep were imported to Japan and sold as Poodles
to an unsuspecting public that is unused to seeing sheep.
People became suspicious when their sheep’s behaviours
were so un-doglike and groomer’s commented on their
hooves when the owners had taken them in for a nail clip.
All came to light when a Japanese movie star commented on
a talk-show that her new poodle didn’t eat dog food
or bark. Poodles as Pets was selling the sheep at $1,300.
The sheep are being rehomed on farms.

Perhaps they could be named “Sheedles”! |
