About Alaskan Malamute Rehoming Aid Aust Inc.

Alaskan Malamute Rehoming Aid Aust Inc.

AMRAA - Alaskan Malamute Rehoming Aid Aust Inc. is a nationwide rescue and rehoming group. AMRAA was developed with the original objective of obtaining exposure for all Alaskan Malamutes requiring aid Australia wide, by means of recruiting the greatest number of people associated within the Malamute/Husky community and other rescue groups to broadly spread the word throughout all states.

The group provides a listing of Alaskan Malamutes currently in need of new homes on our facebook page and website. Solely by joining our facebook page, people can contribute to the awareness of this arctic breed as well as supporting all current listed dogs....the more people who are made aware, the greater the odds are of obtaining new, suitable and loving homes for each and every one.

High on our priorities is the crucial necessity to educate all interested persons and potential owners of any Alaskan Malamute, not merely those in need of rehoming, with regard to the uniqueness of breed to ensure people are not seduced just by their appearance but are well informed about any pitfalls, are adequately prepared and willing to accept the challenges that comes with being owned by one or more of these wonderful dogs. As one of our members said recently – “Malamutes are not just a dog....they are a lifestyle”.

AMRAA has since expanded and we have now ventured into rescuing the most desperate cases from pounds within NSW, Brisbane Qld and occasionally VIC. Our goal is to rescue, foster or kennel if necessary, microchip, vet check, desex, vaccinate, heart worm test, worm and flea treat, ultimately finding the best and most appropriate homes, proceeding with a trial period first after vetting/quarantine is complete. About Alaskan Malamute Rehoming Aid Aust Inc.

Alaskan Malamute Rehoming Aid Aust. Inc (AMRAA) is a registered not for profit organisation that rescues and rehomes Alaskan Malamutes or crosses from pounds or assists with private rehoming, Australia wide

AMRAA lists photos & details of all Alaskan Malamutes in need of rehoming found AUSTRALIA wide on both our facebook page and website (www.amraa.org.au). The dogs may be those AMRRA have rescued or else we assist pounds, shelters, other groups or organisations nationwide to rehome the dogs to EXPERIENCED Malamute owners or those who have done EXTENSIVE RESEARCH on the breed FIRST, who may be interested in adopting or fostering from AMRAA or the services where these dogs are currently held.

The listings range from Mals due for pts on death row in pounds, those who are in care with AMRAA or other organisations or through private adoptions. All Malamutes listed are already or will be DESEXED before release..

Our mission is to assist with rehoming ALL Malamutes requiring aid within Australia, rescue those most desperate cases at risk of death from pounds, foster, kennel if neccessary, quarantine (NSW only), vet check, desex, heartworm test and treat, as well as worm/flea treatment.

For those who adopt a rescue direct from AMRAA, we also offer a 14 day trial, 30-day full refund policy on all adoptions and a take back or assist to rehome policy for the lifetime of the animal.

Educate - to the best of our ability, the public, all interested persons in either fostering or adopting an Alaskan Malamute, so that people are not just seduced by the appearance of the breed but be aware of any breed issues and ultimately find the most appropriate forever home for each dog with those who are willing to include them in the family, provide the time, excercise, grooming and attention required for these dogs to ensure they are cared for properly for the rest of their lives.

Barb Trytko is the NSW Rescue Co-ordinator for AMRAA.

AMRAA are always in need of breed experienced foster carers. Please email to apply. Thanks.
